PREREQUISITE: INTERVIEW TIPS 180 TURNAROUND: Thinking of exploring career changes but don't know where to start? In this hands-on workshop you will complete self-assessment exercises to help you generate career options. You will learn how to research your options so that you can make a decision, and walk away with an understanding of the step by step plan needed to reach your goal! THE POWER OF PORTFOLIOS: A career portfolio is a job-hunting tool that you develop to give employers a complete picture of who you are -- experience, education, accomplishments, skill sets -- and how you may contribute to their organization. Job-seekers can use a career portfolio in job interviews to showcase a point, illustrate the depth of skills and experience, or as a tool to obtain a second interview. |
| ACCESSING THE “HIDDEN JOB MARKET”: Broaden your approach and introduce yourself to the most successful employment concept that will assist you in your job search – gaining access to the “hidden job market”. Reach the decision maker, schedule an informational meeting and gain referrals to other employers. THE ART OF COMMUNICATION: This workshop looks at ‘HOW we say things’ and the impact it has on others. Participants will enjoy exploring and increasing their awareness of how non verbal communication such as body language and tone of voice can affect the message. After all, before a word has even been spoken in the interview, your body language has already given people their first impression of you. COVER LETTERS: This targeted marketing piece is as important as the résumé. Each letter is unique and designed to create interest and “stick your foot” in the employer’s door to ask for an opportunity to meet and speak.
